Quality and Patient Safety: Hospital Quality Incentives Demonstration

Hospital Quality Incentive Demonstration

Baptist Health hospitals have been among the top performers in a national project involving more than 260 hospitals. The CMS/Premier Hospital Quality Incentive Demonstration (HQID) is conducted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Premier Inc. The project aims to demonstrate that "pay-for-performance" can increase clinical quality and save lives. The project leverages Premier's database, the largest clinical comparative database in the nation, to track hospitals’ performance in the demonstration.
