When you arrive at a Baptist Health South Florida hospital, outpatient center or other facility, you will be required to register. During registration, you will be asked to provide information about yourself and your insurance coverage. This information will be stored in a computer file with a designated account number linking your medical and billing records.
After services are provided, Baptist Health processes all primary and secondary insurance claims and produces a billing statement. You will receive letters from us detailing your account status. Please read these letters for important information. If letters suggest that you call your insurance company to ensure coverage for the services provided by Baptist Health, we ask that you do call your insurance provider.
If your insurance company/HMO determines that they will not pay the bill, you may become responsible for the outstanding balance. Therefore, it is important to keep up with the letters indicating your account status to ensure the expected insurance coverage is in place and that all possible issues with your bill have been resolved.
If you have no insurance, and do not qualify for Medicare or Medicaid, you may qualify for our financial assistance program.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please call the
Patient Financial Services Department.
