George E. Cadman III, Herbert H. Greene, M.D., and John P. Maas, Esq. have been named to the board of directors of Homestead Hospital. They join 10 other board members who help guide the faith-based, not-for-profit hospital that is part of Baptist Health South Florida. All Baptist Health board members are volunteers who serve without compensation.
Mr. Cadman is president of ERA South Dade Realty and has been a licensed Realtor for 40 years. In addition to serving on Homestead Hospital’s Board, he serves on Baptist Health’s Board of Trustees, and the Board of Directors for Baptist Health Enterprises and Baptist Outpatient Services. Mr. Cadman earned a bachelor’s degree in radio, television and journalism from the University of Miami. He served with distinction as a Marine Corps captain in South Vietnam and retired as a colonel in the Marine Corps Reserve in 1995. A native Miamian, Mr. Cadman lives in Cutler Bay with his wife Pam. They have five grown children.
Dr. Greene practiced emergency medicine at Baptist Hospital of Miami for more than 28 years, retiring in 1998. He is a charter member of the American College of Emergency Physicians and was the founding president of the Dade County Chapter of the National Medical Association. In addition to serving on Homestead Hospital’s Board, he serves on Baptist Health’s Board of Trustees. Dr. Greene received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed his residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint, Michigan. He served as a lieutenant in the Medical Corps, U.S. Navy Reserves. Dr. Greene resides in south Miami-Dade County with his wife Vivian Margaret. They have three grown sons.
Mr. Maas is an attorney specializing in real estate, probate, estate planning and corporate law. In addition to Homestead Hospital’s Board, he serves on the boards of the Homestead-South Dade Kiwanis Club, American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) and Keys Gate Charter School. He also is the junior advisor for the Homestead Civitan Club and a member of the American Bar Association, Homestead-South Dade Chamber of Commerce and Knights of Columbus Council. Mr. Maas earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida International University and a law degree from the University of Miami. A native of Homestead, Mr. Maas lives in the Redland with his wife Michele and their three children. Homestead Hospital is part of Baptist Health South Florida, the area’s largest faith-based, not-for-profit healthcare organization. Baptist Health also includes Baptist Hospital, Baptist Children’s Hospital, South Miami Hospital, Doctors Hospital, Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute and Baptist Outpatient Services. Baptist Health Foundation, the organization's fundraising arm, supports services at all hospitals and facilities affiliated with Baptist Health. |
