Tickets on sale now for fundraising event that benefits Homestead Hospital

Dazzling décor, gourmet food, real-life racing thrills and a treasure chest of jewels make for an exciting evening at Homestead Hospital’s Diamonds & Dreams 10th Anniversary Pineapple Gala Friday, Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m., at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Proceeds from the fundraising event, which is organized by a group of volunteers from the community and administered through Homestead Hospital Foundation, benefit children’s services at the not-for-profit hospital, including the Betty Jane France Children’s Emergency Center, called Speediatrics.

The Cruise Charitable Industry Foundation kicks off the Pineapple Gala by sponsoring a reception that includes a silent auction with dozens of items.  Guests can bid on gift baskets, certificates to local services, artwork and more.

For a real-life racing thrill, Pineapple Gala attendees can ride shotgun in a 2-seat stock car driven by a professional instructor for a simulated NASCAR run around Homestead-Miami Speedway at speeds exceeding 160 miles per hour.  The Richard Petty ride-along experience will be available 5:30-8 p.m. for a $100 donation.

Dreams of diamonds can also come to life at the Pineapple Gala with the Diamonds & Dreams treasure chest sponsored by Birks & Mayors.  The treasure chest will contain a two-circle diamond pendant necklace set in 18-karat white gold with a 1.04 total carat weight valued at $4,250.  For a $100 donation, guests can purchase a gift box that contains a key. One key will open the chest to win the necklace.  Only 100 keys will be sold.

A gourmet dinner of Chilean sea bass and filet mignon will be served at 8 p.m., followed by a live auction and dancing.  Billy Bones, and local deejay Luandy will provide musical entertainment throughout the evening.

Tickets to the Pineapple Gala are $195 per person.  Groups and companies receive special recognition for purchasing tables of 10.   Race car rides and keys to the treasure chest can also be purchased in advance.  Sponsorship opportunities also are available, and donations of large-ticket items are needed for the auctions.  Donations to Homestead Hospital Foundation are tax-deductible as provided by law.
