Mariners Hospital Foundation Holds Raffle for Boston Whaler

12-01-2008

The raffling of a boat has become one of the traditions of the Mariners Hospital Bougainville Ball.  This year, it is a special limited 50th anniversary edition Boston Whaler Sport.

The 13-foot boat features a 40-horsepower, four-stroke Mercury engine, E-Z Loader trailer and a sun top. The company only made 300 of these boats; the raffle boat is number 299. The boat, engine, trailer and top were donated by Caribee Boat Sales and Marina in Islamorada.

Raffle tickets can be purchased at the main hospital entrance at Mariners Hospital or by calling Mariners Hospital Foundation at 305-434-1111.  Raffle tickets are $100 each and only 250 will be sold.

The drawing will take place Saturday, Jan. 31, during the Bougainvillea Ball. The winner does not need to be present to win. Proceeds from the raffle and the ball will help defray the cost of expanding the hospital’s medical laboratory to accommodate newer instruments.
