Mariners Hospital is hosting a free one-day camp for children diagnosed with mild to severe asthma. The camp, sponsored by the Mariners Hospital Wellness Fund, is open to children between the ages of 5 and 13 who live in Monroe County. It will be held on the Mariners Hospital campus, 91500 Overseas Highway, Tavernier, Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Respiratory therapists and nurses will teach children how to control their asthma better. There also will be games and other activities for campers. Although the program is free, space is limited to 16 children. To register for the camp or for more information, call Gayle Maimo at 434-1635. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 14.
