Ricardo C. Cury, M.D., has been named medical director of cardiac MR and CT at Baptist Hospital and Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute.
Prior to working at Baptist Hospital, Dr. Cury was most recently on the medical staff at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, serving as director of teleradiology and education of cardiac CT, director of clinical cardiac MRI and assistant professor at Harvard Medical School. He has interpreted more than 5,000 cardiac CT angiograms and more than 2,500 cardiac MR scans.
Dr. Cury received his medical degree from Santos School of Medical Sciences in Sao Paolo, Brazil, and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at MedImagem, Beneficencia Portuguesa Hospital, also in Sao Paolo. He completed a clinical and research fellowship in cardiovascular imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He is Board-certified in diagnostic radiology.
Dr. Cury is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Radiology and the American Heart Association. He is the founding member of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and serves on its board of directors. Dr. Cury has written numerous journal articles, including over 70 original scientific papers in major cardiology and radiology journals, and has lectured throughout the world on cardiac CT and MR.
