Italo Linfante, M.D., has been named medical director of interventional neuroradiology for Baptist Hospital Neuroscience Center and Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute. He specializes in less invasive procedures to treat stroke and brain aneurysm.
Prior to working at Baptist Hospital Neuroscience Center and Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute, Dr. Linfante was most recently on the medical staff at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass., and Boston Medical Center. He was also an associate professor in neurology and radiology at the University of Massachusetts in Worchester.
He received a medical degree and completed a residency in neurology at the University of Rome, “La Sapienza,” in Italy. Dr. Linfante is Board-certified in neurology and vascular neurology. He serves on the editorial board of Stroke and has published numerous journal articles, books and book chapters about cerebrovascular disease, stroke, carotid stenting and endovascular treatments for aneurysms.
Dr. Linfante is a founding member and on the board of the Society for Vascular and Interventional Neurology.
