Celebrate Puerto Rico Discovery Day
On Thursday, November 19, 2009, the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of South Florida, headquartered in Miami-Dade County, will host an after-hours networking event celebrating Columbus’s second voyage to the New World when he landed in Puerto Rico on November 19, 1493. As part of the celebration, several distinguished individuals will be honored for their professional and community involvement. They are:

- Syndia A. Nazario-Cordona, Director, Ana G. Mendez University System of South Florida
- William A. Ramos, Director, Intergovernmental Affairs, U.S. Department of Commerce
