Stroke Services at Baptist Hospital's Neuroscience Center
Baptist Hospital treats more people for stroke than any other hospital in South Florida. The Neuroscience Center at Baptist Hospital features a dedicated 35-bed patient care unit and specially trained nurses, neurologists and neurosurgeons to meet the needs of neurological patients.
Because time is of the essence with stroke care, the multidisciplinary stroke team goes into action when paramedics notify the Emergency Center that a stroke patient is en route to Baptist Hospital. Patients are evaluated quickly with high-tech imaging to determine the best treatment.
Quick treatment is the best way to survive a stroke, the third leading cause of death in the United States. It’s important to know the warning signs of stroke and how to respond to them.
