Aizik L. Wolf, M.D., Neurosurgeon and Medical Director
Dr. Wolf was formerly chief of epilepsy surgery and skull base surgery at the University of Maryland, as well as assistant professor of neurology and neurosurgery. He graduated cum laude from Yale Medical School and trained at the University of Minnesota Hospitals. He completed his Gamma Knife radiosurgery training with Dr. Christer Lindquist at Brown University. Dr. Wolf has treated more than 4,500 patients with the Gamma Knife, has authored more than 90 scientific publications, and travels worldwide to lecture on Gamma Knife treatment, epilepsy surgery and treatment of brain tumors.
Sammie R. Coy, Ph.D., Physicist
Dr. Coy, chief physicist, initiated the Gamma Knife program in 1993 with Dr. Wolf. Dr. Coy formerly was chief physicist for the New England Gamma Knife Center at Rhode Island Hospital. He received his doctorate degree at Vanderbilt University. His experience and exceptional background in computer sciences, mathematics and physics play a vital role in Gamma Knife treatment planning. Dr. Coy has co-authored several scientific articles, and through his innovative work, continues to support the development of Leksell Gamma Knife programs.
Steven J. DePrima, M.D., Neuro-interventionalist
Dr. DePrima earned his medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta. He completed fellowships in neuroradiology and interventional neuroradiology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, where he also served as assistant professor of radiology in the neuroradiology section. Dr. DePrima is chief of neuroradiology and interventional neuroradiology, and is a frequent lecturer at medical conferences around the world.
