Women of childbearing age face special challenges, whether they had diabetes before becoming pregnant or developed the disease during pregnancy. In either case, the Baptist-South Miami Diabetes Care Centers offer special education opportunities for expectant mothers. To complement the program, the Women's Health Resource Center at Baptist Hospital provides information, support and medical referrals.
