Celebration of Generosity

Baptist Health Donors – A Step Above

Philanthropy took center stage during “A Celebration of Generosity,” the annual donor recognition dinner hosted by Baptist Health Foundation. The February 11 event was held at the Ritz-Carlton, Coconut Grove.

“This evening we celebrate our donors, who have been so generous with their time and resources,” said James W. Harris, Baptist Health Foundation Board chairman. “Despite a challenging economy, they continue to support our mission to provide the highest-quality healthcare to the community, now and in the future. We are extremely grateful for their generosity and dedication.”

The celebration also marked the 10th anniversary of the Founders Society, whose 550 members have each contributed a minimum of $50,000 and are an integral part of the Foundation’s fundraising efforts.

Evening highlights included a video presentation featuring several grateful patient stories, including Chairman’s Circle member Victor E. Clarke and Robert M. Gintel, President’s Circle member and Foundation Board treasurer.  Mr. Gintel shared his personal story about experiencing the joy of philanthropic giving while one lives to witness and appreciate the positive impact of a financial gift. He encouraged everyone to “give it away while you are still alive!”

The dinner was underwritten by Platinum Sponsors Blue Cross Blue Shield, Empire Office and Sage Advisory Services; Gold Sponsors Aletheia Research and Management, Artio-Global Investments, Buckhead Capital Management, Eastern Medical Courier, Mel and Nancy Morgenstern, Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management, RiverSource Investments, LLC, Segall Bryant & Hamill, TGSV Enterprises and Wicker, Smith, O’Hara, McCoy & Ford, P.A.; Silver Sponsors Caywood Scholl Capital Management; Chef’s Kitchen and ProAssurance Corporation; and Bronze Sponsor Pier Capital.
