Baptist Hospital Emergency Center

 Baptist Hospital Emergency Center

The new Baptist Hospital Emergency Center, one of the largest in the state, is housed on the ground floor of the Victor E. Clarke Pavilion, a four-story building that also houses the new Baptist Hospital Neuroscience Center and the expanded quarters of Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute.  This spectacular new facility elevates the patient care experience to a whole new level.

Located on the east side of the campus, the Pavilion is near the former emergency center.  The 654,000-square-foot-expansion also includes a seven-story parking garage.  Altogether the expansion cost $134 million.  The Pavilion is named for local philanthropist and honorary Baptist Health Foundation Board member Victor E. Clark.  His gift of $10 million led Baptist Health Foundation’s campaign to raise funds for the project.

Located on the first floor of the Pavilion, the Emergency Center has 100 exam rooms, including six state-of-the-art trauma rooms.  The Children’s Emergency Center, with its own reception area, consists of 20 exam rooms and two of the trauma rooms.  The Center is designed to maximize space, visibility and flexibility while providing more comfortable, spacious treatment areas.  Space is now available to increase physician coverage during peak volume times, allowing for faster and more efficient care of patients.

The second floor is the new home of the Neuroscience Center, providing the most comprehensive and innovative techniques to diagnose and treat the brain, spine and nervous system.  The Center's staff includes neurosurgeons and other specialists acclaimed for clinical and educational leadership, as well as specialty-trained nurses and clinical professionals.

Renowned for clinical research and pioneering less invasive techniques to treat heart and circulatory diseases, Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute occupies the fourth floor.  With a total of 99 inpatient beds, this new patient care floor makes the Institute one of the largest inpatient cardiovascular centers in the nation.

The Emergency Center Expansion Project has a variety of naming opportunities available to individuals and families that will establish a permanent legacy in South Florida for generations.  Won’t you join us in our campaign to change and save lives.
