Robot-assisted Hysterectomy and Gynecologic Surgery
For women with gynecological conditions that can’t be controlled with medication or noninvasive procedures, surgery is typically the best treatment option. Women with early-stage gynecologic cancer and other conditions often have a hysterectomy – the surgical removal of the uterus.
In the case of cancer, the surgeon may also remove the ovaries, fallopian tubes and/or select lymph nodes. Our surgeons perform robot-assisted hysterectomy, which may be the least-invasive, most-effective option for some women.
Using the da Vinci system, the surgeon has great precision and control through tiny incisions, increasing the likelihood of a quick recovery with minimal pain and risk of complications. Robotic surgery also is an option to treat fibroid tumors, uterine prolapse and endometriosis, among other common gynecologic conditions.
