Open 24 hours a day, every day, the Emergency Center provides top-quality care as quickly as possible. The Center has top physicians representing every medical specialty as well as physicians trained in emergency medicine.
Because medical problems don't occur when it's convenient for the patient, the hospital opened a Fast Track E.R. in the Emergency Center to treat minor emergencies quickly. It's open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Located within the Emergency Center is the Heart Attack Unit, which provides state-of-the-art treatment to patients who come in with heart attack symptoms. Following guidelines from the American College of Cardiologists and the American Heart Association, the heart attack team strives to assess the problem and get patients the interventional care they need – such as a cardiac catheterization – within 90 minutes of arrival in the Emergency Center. This round-the-clock commitment to care is provided by emergency room physicians, interventional cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and nurses who are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
