The primary purpose of Rehabilitation Services is to provide assessment, therapeutic treatment and education to each patient and family members. The rehabilitation plan is designed to promote health, restore function and overall to improve life-style.
The department of rehabilitation offers outpatient services to children, adolescents, adults, and seniors with physical, cognitive, and/or functional deficits. Rehabilitation is provided to patients admitted forconditions related to:
• orthopedics
• sports medicine
• cardiac
• burns
• open wounds
• amputations
• spinal cord injury
• head trauma.
Outpatient rehabilitation specializes in orthopedic, sports medicine, spine rehabilitation, pain management and lymphedema.
Rehabilitation Services meets the standards of the Board of Professional Regulation of Florida as well as the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The department operates under the guidelines of the American Physical Therapy Association, American Occupational Therapy Association, American Speech and Hearing Association and the National Athletic Association.
The department consists of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, athletic trainers and rehab aides.
