The 16-bed Children's Emergency Center is under the direction of a Board-certified pediatrician with a subspecialty in emergency medicine. The Center is staffed around the clock, seven days a week, by pediatricians and pediatric registered nurses. The Children's Emergency Center is separate from the adult E.R., and features specialized equipment just for children in a child-friendly setting designed to comfort.
A Child Life Specialist is also available to meet with the child and family and prepare them for any procedures and provide diversional activities for the child.
The entire Children's Emergency Center is backed by 100 Pediatric Subspecialists on staff.
The Urgent Care Center at Baptist Hospital's Emergency Center also provides rapid treatment for pediatric patients with minor injuries.
