 Cancer Services at Baptist Hospital of Miami 

Baptist Hospital is part of Baptist Health South Florida and has been providing comprehensive cancer care for more than 30 years. Our staff works with patients in a variety of settings, including specialized cancer care centers for inpatient and outpatient treatments. It has long been ranked among South Florida’s premier facilities for cancer treatment and is accredited with commendation by the prestigious American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.

Baptist Children’s Hospital provides pediatric cancer care.

Our distinguished team offers the most advanced treatment for patients with all types of cancer. At Baptist Hospital, we provide multidisciplinary care that includes medical oncology, surgical oncology and radiation oncology as well as a full range of diagnostic and support services.  In addition to our comprehensive services, we provide access to cutting-edge clinical research trials.

Services

Imaging services include X-ray, mammography, endoscopy, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound and fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), PET/CT and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT).

Surgery is performed in our state-of-the-art operating rooms and includes minimally-invasive and minimally-invasive robot-assisted surgery.

Radiation therapy includes conformal radiation therapy, four-dimensional radiation therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), brachytherapy and stereotactic body radiosurgery (SBRT). Multidisciplinary head and neck cancer support team.

Chemotherapy, hormone therapy and molecularly targeted therapy. Inpatient and outpatient.

Clinical research trials

Interventional radiology. At Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute, located on the Baptist Hospital campus, interventional radiologists perform minimally–invasive image-guided procedures that include radiofrequency ablation, cryoablation, microwave ablation, as well as transcatheter arterial chemoembolization, transarterial bland embolization and  in conjunction with our   radiation oncologists, radioembolization.

Patients have access to mind-body programs, pain management, palliative care services, rehabilitation services, lymphedema therapy, Genetic Risk Education Service, specially-trained oncology nurses, social workers, dietitians, technologists, chaplains, as well as educational programs and support groups.
