What to Know Before You Arrive

Required Information
We want to do everything possible to ensure that your surgical experience is a positive one. We will call you a few days prior to your surgery for the following necessary information:

  • Medical History
  • Pertinent Test Results
  • Billing Information

Please plan to spend several minutes providing us with this information when we call.

    Stress
Surgery can create some anxiety and stress. While these are more normal reactions, it may be helpful if you talk freely with your surgeon and anesthesiologist about your concerns. They will answer your questions. And they will discuss with you the best surgical anesthesia for your needs.

    Family or Friend as Companion
You will need to bring along a responsible companion who can drive you home after your procedure and insist you with follow-up care. It is not necessary that this person wait at Medical Arts Surgery Center during the procedure. If he or chooses to leave the premises, we have beepers available at no charge to inform your companion when you are ready to go home.

    Arrival Time
You should arrive at the Center 1-1.5 hours before your scheduled procedure. We will complete your registration, have you change clothing if necessary, perform any pre-operative orders which might be required by your physician and answer any questions you might have. Please be on time. A delay in starting your case could affect many other patients that day.
