Become a Volunteer: South Miami Hospital

About Baptist Health
Volunteering at South Miami Hospital

South Miami Hospital’s warm environment and focus on patient care and customer service makes it a great place to volunteer your time. Our volunteers work at the information desk, in waiting rooms, at the Gift Shop and in various departments throughout the hospital. Volunteering is a wonderful way to learn new job skills, meet new people and feel good about helping others.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life. We have retirees, working professionals, college students and teens fulfilling community service requirements for school.

Teens, ages 14 to 18, are placed in our yearlong Junior Volunteer or Summer Junior Volunteer program, which runs from June through August. During the summer program, teens come in once or twice a week and work four hours each time.
Adult volunteers work a minimum of one shift per week, lasting three to four hours. The volunteering office works to accommodate their schedules.
