Physical Examination

Your satisfaction is our foremost objective. Our outstanding medical staff has developed the Executive Health physical examination to meet the needs of most individuals. However, if you prefer, we will gladly accommodate requests for different or additional healthcare services.

The physical examination includes:

• Complete medical history
• Extensive panel of laboratory tests
• Electrocardiogram
• Chest X-ray
• Hearing test
• Visual acuity test
• Health risk appraisal
• Comprehensive physical examination performed by a Board-certified physician

Our physician will explain the results of your testing and examination and make recommendations in order to help you maintain and improve your health. Our staff is available to assist you in arranging follow-up services, when needed.

Depending on your age, gender, symptoms, lifestyle and medical history, our staff may recommend, if necessary, other testing such as:

• Cardiac stress test
• Mammogram
• Pulmonary function test
• Flexible sigmoidoscopy
• Bone density screening for osteoporosis
• CT scan of lungs
• Heart scan (Calcium Scoring)

We are able to serve your entire family. Our medical team includes Board-certified internists, family practitioners and pediatricians, as well as the full complement of medical specialists from the Baptist-South Miami medical staff.

Other Wellness Services

Our goal is to provide you with information and services that will improve your lifestyle and health in the future. To this end, we provide a variety of services that you may elect during your visit at Baptist.

• Nutritional counseling by a registered dietitian, including a full review of your current diet and specific recommendations for improvement.
• Fitness assessment performed by a certified exercise physiologist. This assessment will provide you with information about your current fitness status and a recommended plan for fitness activities.
• Massage by a licensed massage therapist. Ease away the stress of daily life and end your day with a relaxing therapeutic massage.
• Stress Management Consultations. Resiliency assessment, education about stress and strategies for enhancing personal coping, provided by a licensed clinical social worker.

Most examinations are completed in one half-day visit to our convenient location within Baptist Medical Arts Building. We strive to minimize waiting time between services and provide you with privacy and comfort during your visit. For your convenience, our Business Center is available to provide fax, computer and Internet access.

Follow-up

Our physical examinations include an important follow-up component. Your examining physician will send you a letter outlining areas that may require attention and, if indicated, recommendations for follow-up. In addition, you will receive copies of your test results and a report regarding your health risk appraisal. If you wish, we will also send the information to your personal physician.
