Baptist Medical Plaza at Westchester is one of six neighborhood Urgent Care Centers operated by Baptist Hospital of Miami. All Urgent Care Centers use a triage system to assess patients, so those most in need get priority care. Most health insurance covers urgent care, but patients should check their plans. When in doubt about the seriousness of an emergency, call 911 and/or get to an ER.
Baptist Medical Plaza at Westchester sees patients with the following conditions:
Fever
Earache, sore throat
Flu-like symptoms, colds, upper respiratory infections
Vomiting, nausea, diarrhea
Simple or suspected bone fractures, strains and sprains
Cuts that may need stitches, other simple wounds
Rashes and minor allergic reactions
Non-severe asthma attacks
Painful or burning urination
Call 911 or go to a hospital emergency room if you have any of the following conditions: severe pain, severe bleeding, difficulty breathing, compound bone fractures that break through the skin; chest pain or other signs of a heart attack; stroke symptoms; loss of consciousness and seizures.
