Sleep disorders are associated with a number of chronic diseases and conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and depression – leading to diminished health and lower quality of life.

The Sleep Diagnostic Center at Baptist Medical Plaza at Miami Lakes has opened to provide advanced monitoring, diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia and narcolepsy.  The new Sleep Diagnostic Center is located at 14701 NW 77 Ave., Suite 210, and is staffed with licensed technologists and Board-certified physicians specializing in sleep medicine.

The facility – designed to make patients feel like guests at a top-quality hotel – is wired with the most advanced sleep diagnostics equipment. All rooms are private with full bathrooms and feature flat screen TVs and Internet access. A guest bed for a family member also is available inside the room.

“Our goal was to merge a sophisticated testing environment with all the comforts you’d expect from a nice hotel,” said David Wagner, administrative director.  “People who are suffering from sleep problems will have the choice to be evaluated in a more attractive, comfortable environment, without sacrificing medical expertise.”

The Sleep Diagnostic Center is staffed around the clock by licensed sleep medicine technologists. Administrative staff members are available to schedule testing or answer questions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays.
