Play and Say: A Developmental Learning Program for Children
A six-week program for children ages 2-5 years old that uses songs, games, crafts, interactive media and social experiences to help children develop age-appropriate speech, language and motor skills. Classes are grouped by age and skills and are taught by bilingual and licensed speech-language pathologists with extensive training in pediatrics. The group will meet Monday-Friday beginning June 11, from 9-11 a.m. or from 12 noon-2 p.m. at South Miami Hospital’s Child Development Center, 5975 Sunset Drive, Suite 100. Fast ForWord to Successful Reading
South Miami Hospital’s Child Development Center now offers a program to help children develop their language and cognitive skills for successful learning and reading. Fast ForWord improves skills using the Learning MAPS model of improving Memory, Attention, Processing and Sequencing. Three versions of Fast ForWord, designed for specific needs and age groups, are being offered by the Child Development Center. While children can start the program at any time during the school year, the intense training is ideal for summer, when children aren’t required to do other homework. Early Childhood STEP Program - Systematic Training for Effective Parenting
