Community leaders and renowned artists attended launch event at the Epic Hotel
Baptist Health International Center of Miami, a premier provider of international executive health trend programs, kicked off the fundraiser Pintando Together at a launch reception in partnership with the Epic Hotel and Residences earlier this month, introducing the exciting event to the South Florida community and allowing participants to come together and begin planning for the main affair. As physical health is an international concern, Pintando Together is the next generation of Baptist Health’s annual Pintemos Juntos por Colombia, considered the most important fundraiser in Bogotá since its inception in 2004. The main event will take place on March 23, 2010 for the first time in Miami.
“The launch of Pintando Together demonstrated the uniting nature of this event, even in the planning stages,” said Antonio Briceño, M.D., Chief Medical Officer for Baptist Health South Florida.
“With physical health on so many people’s minds, you can already sense the great energy in Miami to bring the power of the Pintemos Juntos por Colombia to other communities in need in Latin America,” added Allen Brenteson, Corporate Vice President of Baptist Health South Florida.
The unique and highly popular fundraising event pairs renowned, international artists from throughout Latin America with respected and socially conscious community figures, including government leaders, diplomats, business leaders and celebrities to create a work of art for auction and help set a higher standard on international health trends.
Proceeds from the auction this year go to Corporación Matamoros, a non-profit organization that seeks to support and reinstate police officers and military injured in combat to suppress the violence of the FARC guerrillas and drug traffickers in Colombia. The program also supports the wives and children of the fallen, helping them to attain an education so they can succeed. Partial proceeds will also go to the Baptist Health South Florida Foundation to improve physical health in the community.
